Energy efficiency

Your standard house is a low-energy house

The main goal in current time is to save the environment by saving energy. Efficient use of energy in buildings is therefore of essence. This can be achieved by using energy efficient and environmentally friendly building materials as well as using proper building technology in order to create as little carbon dioxide as possible to curb its negative influence on our atmosphere.

When talking about low-energy house we have in mind a building, which uses a maximum 40-60 kWh/(m2a) of energy for heating and at least 15 kWh/(m2a). The main advantage of such low-energy house is that heat loss is prevented in the biggest possible scale and that natural heat from the environment (sun, water, air) is used to the biggest extent.

We create environmentally friendly architecture

Wood is a natural material and we are aware that it represents the building material of the future. A combination of natural building materials with the core architectural designs show also that you are environmentally conscious and ready to take on the advantages that the location of your house offers. Efficient use of local specifics, a logical situation of your home and optimal floor plans will connect your house with its natural environment in an aesthetic and functional way.

We follow our traditions and create sustainable architecture

Wood is a traditional building material for Slovenian houses. It has been used mainly due to limited choice and a small number of different technologies and building materials.  This is also why a lot of imagination and planning was needed. Traditional buildings in Slovenia have in the past respected our nature and local characteristics. This allowed them to bring an added value to the environment that they have been built in. Micro-climate has also been considered such as environment, winds, flows, trajectories of sun and others. A traditional house was efficient, economical and degradable. Today we strive towards such behaviour again and see out sustainable architecture as “architecture of wood”.

We use renewable natural sources

Building a wooden house is quick, predictable, accurate and can ensure a high quality due to its simple construction. Materials are designed with great care, prepared in workhouses and then brought to the building site to be put together. Such way of building a new house also does not create any waste materials and can be recycled in its entirety.

Wooden houses are wonderful to live in

When building a wooden house the Artwood architects consider all characteristics of wood and possibilities of its design. A wooden house is in addition to being environmentally friendly and sustainable also very soft, cosy and nice to live in. Such house is easy to adapt to possible changes in lifestyle or taste that you might develop in the future.
